How to Produce Affordable Custom eLearning Videos for Restaurant Training

Most of our restaurant clients want to incorporate video into their custom eLearning courses.  The problem is that it’s expensive. If you hire a professional video production crew, finished video can cost you $1,000 a minute. Cost will add up fast and blow your course budget out of the water quick.  

So what do you do?

You can become a "custom eLearning do it yourself pro" and create your Restaurant Training videos in house.  This is very do able, in fact we produce our eLearningTV show in house on a shoestring budget.

The problem is that you need some stuff...Green screen studio, video camera, editing software and a video hosting service.

The problem is that you need to learn how to use all this stuff which is not complicated but takes time. 

WARNING: Don’t do bad quality YouTube videos!  Everybody will hate you!!!!

So, if you don't have the budget and don't have the time and resources to learn how to create corporate videos in house you might want to consider plan “B”, Avatars.  

We use a program called Xtranormal which is a cloud based program that uses text-to-speech technology to create videos for custom eLearning. Xtranormal was originally created as a storyboard program for use in the motion picture and television industry. Recent improvements to the technology allow you to use actual voice overs which give the Avatars a more realistic feel.

Hire a video production company:  Great results at $1,000/minute of finished video.

Do it yourself: Great results on a shoestring budget but will take time.
